"Get Fit at the LS Gamber Center"
(Available to those 18 and older)

THE GAMBER CENTER is Lee's Summit's premier community and fitness and adult education center. Located at 4 SE Independence Ave, Lee's Summit MO (located at the southwest corner of 2nd and Independence Ave), the Gamber Center is available to all member of the LS community, ages 18 and up. The Gamber Center offers a variety of fitness programs and adult educational courses, as well as luncheons, trips, and other activities where people can "get fit," meet friends, share ideas, and learn new hobbies and crafts. Membership rates are listed below. Those who may not yet be ready for a full membership may purchase a GC Class Pass for $60.00 for (20) visits or a single visit for $6.25 (regular rate) or $5.00 (discount rate). The Gamber Center is open Monday-Friday: 6am - 9pm; Saturday: 8am - 5pm; and Sunday: 12 - 4pm. Gamber Center Fitness Membership Information

Reg. Rate: $185.00/person/year
Discounted Resident Rate: $150.00/person/year
Flex Rates: $15.42/$12.50
Fitness memberships include use of fitness
equipment including:

  • 4 treadmills
  • 2 recumbent bikes
  • 2 ellipticals
  • 2 Nu-Steppers
  • 7 Selectorized Strength machines
  • Over 30 instructor-led fitness classes/week
  • 20% OFF Personal Trainers

Disc. Resident Rates: Proof of residency in LS required. LS residents live within city limits AND pay LS property tax (not Jackson Co. or R-7 taxes), LS mailing address does NOT guarantee residency.

Fitness Membership: No enrollment fee. Complete membership fee due at time of enrollment.

Flex Fitness Membership: An additional $25.00 enrollment fee is due along with the first installment at the time the membership is signed.


Gamber Center Fitness Class Descriptions (Offerings and Availability may vary)
Balance Training: Experience smooth transitions for balance improvement. Abdominals, thighs, gluteals, back and arms are toned using simple, yet effective exercises either standing or sitting. Toning exercises are combined to challenge and shape your body. Band Camp: A unique sculpting class that incorporates resistance tubing and bands to build lean, functional muscles and a killer
midsection while also focusing on balance and stability. Easy on the joints and tough on muscles.
Cardio Express: 30 minutes of great cardiovascular moves to build stamina and endurance.
Circuit Training: Combines shorts bursts of strength training with progressive cardio drills for a heart pumping, muscle burning good time.
Flexible Strength: By combining powerful yoga moves, elastic bands and hand weights, this workout is suitable for all fitness levels. Good Times Fitness: Combine easy toe-tapping steps with great music to gain strength, balance and a stronger heart by adding some light weight resistance and flexibility.
Have a Ball: Learn how to get your heart pumping and gain some flexibility and balance using a ball. Ball training increases postural awareness, spinal stabilization and trunk strengthening. A total body
workout.
Interval Training: Focus on functional moves, athletic drills and combines strength and cardio intervals using hand weights, tubing and
stability balls. A great calorie burning challenge for all fitness levels.
Kickboxing: A great full body workout using Karate and boxing techniques. This class adds overall strength and core stability and concludes with a calming stretch and relaxation. Accommodates all
fitness levels.
Pilate's Progressions: A variety of exercise progressions with modifications. Gain a better sense of physical awareness, enhance muscle control and core stability as you challenge and condition your body.
Piyo: A combined strength & flexibility mat class using Pilates and Yoga in a flowing sequence. Suitable for all fitness levels. Retro Cardio: If you feel like dancing when you workout, then you can’t miss this workout. An aerobic low impact workout with easy to
learn steps.
Sassy Salsa: Latin rhythms and great moves that help you dance away into your day. Stretch & Tone: The primary focus is to tone, shape and increase flexibility in your muscles using light hand weight, tubing and bands.
For all fitness levels.
Tai Chi: Focus on movements that help balance and improve circulation. Simple and easy to follow along. For new beginners. Yoga: Yoga poses and methods will allow you to increase muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and increase stamina, lung capacity and overall wellness. A self-paced class for all levels and ages.
Yoga Basics: A self-paced class that allows yoga poses and methods using a chair to help increase muscular strength, endurance, flexibility
and overall wellness.
Zumba Dance: Combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic routine that is high energy with unique moves that help you dance away your worries.
